Privacy-focused tech company Rarimo launched the RariMe app on June 27th, 2024. This digital identity verification solution is an alternative to Worldcoin, which uses orbs to scan eyeballs for identity verification. The RariMe app protects users’ privacy while allowing identity verification in the Web3 space. The company said it requires a smartphone to generate passport zero-knowledge proofs (ZKs).

RariMe Utilizes Passport ZKPs
The RariMe app allows users to scan their biometric passports with their smartphones. This passport uses zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) to verify the uniqueness of users without revealing their identity in the Web3 space. The RariMe app provides users access to a passport-derived profile.
It has your personal details, facial photograph, active authentication public key, and more details. Passport ZKPs do not disclose personal data while confirming a user’s identity. The RariMe app will use passport ZKPs to drop programmable airdrops of Rarimo’s upcoming token. The first wave of airdrops is for charitable donations to users from Ukraine.
Reportedly, co-founder of Rarimo provider Rarilabs Lasha Antadze said: “Privacy is freedom, and it no longer exists in online spaces.”
“RariMe seeks to change this It will allow users to go incognito, interacting in a truly anonymous fashion across Web3,” she added.
